£70,000–£80,000 - flex to £90,000 for the right person

We’re hiring a Senior Product Engineer to join a small, high-performing UK tech team operating with genuine start-up autonomy inside a mission-driven organisation.

This is not a ticket-driven development role. We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of problems, shape solutions, and deliver end-to-end features without hand-holding.

The Business

A mission-driven organisation delivering large-scale environmental and climate impact projects across multiple regions. Their work combines science, operational expertise, and technology to drive measurable carbon reduction, protect vulnerable ecosystems, and support sustainable economic development within local communities.

The Role

You’ll take responsibility for a core product domain, working across web, API and mobile applications. You’ll collaborate directly with stakeholders across the business and occasionally customers to deeply understand requirements, then design and build the right solution.

You’ll be trusted to:

Design and ship end-to-end features

Contribute to system architecture and technical direction

Operate confidently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues

Tech & Environment

Full-stack development (Front End / API / Cloud)

*

Any Object-Oriented programming language considered

*

Web apps, APIs and mobile apps (Android experience a plus)

*

AI-assisted engineering expected (GitHub Copilot in use)

VS Code environment

*

Small UK team (7 people) working closely together

*

Overseas engineering team focused primarily on support

You’ll be part of a tech function that operates like a start-up: fast-moving, low-process, high-trust.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years’ experience building and scaling full-stack applications

*

Strong product mindset and end-to-end feature ownership experience

*

Confident communicator, comfortable picking up the phone to stakeholders or customers

*

Experience in early-stage or fast-growth environments preferred

*

Comfortable with ambiguity and self-direction

*

Motivated by autonomy rather than structured task lists

*

Strong engineering fundamentals in an OO language

*

Confident using AI tools to enhance productivity (not reliant, but effective)

The Product

You’ll work across multiple product domains including operational management tools, workforce systems, data measurement platforms, compliance tooling and mobile applications, all forming part of a broader, multi-product ecosystem.

Location

Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in the London office. Core team typically onsite Mondays and Tuesdays, with flexibility where needed.
