Warranty Engineer – Energy from Waste Power Station – 2 year FTC

SCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting for a Warranty Engineer, on a 2 year fixed term contract, to oversee the defects liability period of a newly constructed Energy from Waste power station in South East London / Kent area.
This role sits at the interface between Operations, Maintenance, OEMs and Commercial teams, focusing on protecting plant performance and ensuring contractual warranty obligations are properly managed and enforced. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring availability, managing defects and safeguarding the commercial position of the asset during handover into full O&M.
The role will involve:
* Monitoring plant performance, availability and OEE against contractual guarantees
* Identifying and differentiating warranty-related underperformance from operational factors
* Managing and tracking warranty claims and defect resolution
* Assessing costs associated with breakdowns and underperformance for back-charging purposes
* Maintaining a structured warranty documentation and tracking system
* Chairing vendor meetings and reporting matters to senior management
* Liaising with Legal and Commercial teams on contractual matters
* Working closely with Maintenance, Engineering and Operations teams to monitor plant performance
* Contributing to O&M regimes and spares strategies
* Supporting asset and inventory management activities linked to warranty issues
To be considered for this role, you should have:
* A recognised Engineering qualification – Degree / HNC/ apprenticeship
* 10+ years’ industrial experience within power generation or heavy process environments
* Strong familiarity with mechanical and electrical plant equipment
* Experience managing high-value contracts (£2m+)
* Working knowledge of contractual law and procurement processes
* Experience using CMMS and reporting systems
* Strong communication, negotiation and report writing skills
* Understanding of relevant H&S legislation (COSHH, PUWER, PSSR, Electricity at Work etc)
* NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (desirable)
* Ability to operate effectively in a pressurised, site-based environment
