Senior Planner – Power Transmission
Cambridge (Hybrid Working)
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Planner and a Lead Planner to support the delivery of major high-voltage transmission and grid infrastructure projects across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and controlling integrated project schedules across substations, overhead lines (OHL), underground cables, and grid connection programmes (132kV–400kV+).

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Schedule Development & Integration
* Develop and maintain Level 3–5 integrated schedules
* Build logic-linked, resource-loaded programmes using Primavera P6
* Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning & outage plans
* Align programmes with regulatory milestones and client requirements
Planning Governance & Controls
* Apply structured WBS and planning standards
* Ensure compliance with NEC / FIDIC contract requirements
* Manage baselines and change control processes
* Support stage-gate and assurance reviews
Progress & Performance Management
* Lead monthly updates and critical path analysis
* Monitor float erosion, risks, and constraints
* Produce earned value metrics (SPI / CPI)
* Provide mitigation strategies and early warnings
Risk & Scenario Analysis
* Conduct Monte Carlo schedule risk analysis
* Develop what-if and recovery programmes
* Analyse outage windows, access constraints, and seasonal impacts
* Support delay analysis and claims where required
Stakeholder Engagement
* Work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and site leadership
* Present performance updates at governance forums
* Interface with client planning teams and regulatory stakeholders
* Integrate supply chain schedules
Essential Project Environment Experience:
* High-voltage transmission (132kV–400kV+)
* Overhead line construction & refurbishment
* Substation builds (AIS / GIS)
* Underground cable installation
* Grid connection projects
* National Grid / utility framework environments
