The Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Data Solution Designer to join a large-scale enterprise data transformation programme within a complex, fast-paced environment.

This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role — the peak of the technical career pathway within the squad model. It is not a people management role, but a senior individual contributor position responsible for the end-to-end technical success of data products.

You will bridge the gap between architecture and execution, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions. From trusted Business Layer design and Data Contracts through to intuitive dashboards, you will ensure solutions align with hybrid data mesh principles and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

* Translate complex business requirements into scalable, performant and secure technical solutions

* Own hands-on solution design including Business Layer modelling and Data Contract definition

* Ensure alignment with hybrid data mesh architecture principles

* Lead best practice in dashboard design, UX and data storytelling using Tableau

* Deliver intuitive, insight-driven data products that answer key business questions

* Act as the senior technical authority within the squad, mentoring BI Specialists and Analytics Engineers

* Lead by example through hands-on development using SQL, dbt and GCP

* Champion coding, testing and documentation standards through peer review

* Lead technical aspects of Agile ceremonies and own technical backlog prioritisation in Jira

* Promote data governance, metadata management, lineage and data quality practices using Atlan

Essential Skills & Experience

* Expert-level hands-on SQL and dbt

* Strong experience with Tableau and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

* Deep understanding of dimensional modelling and modern data warehousing

* Experience with data integration and data mesh principles

* Strong data visualisation and data storytelling capability

* Proven experience leading technical delivery within Agile squads

* Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
