Shape real-world products with early influence, clear impact. As a Design Engineer based in Staffordshire (hybrid, two days on site), youll guide concepts into robust, manufacturable products for a well-known UK brand. Expect supplier exposure, meaningful ownership, and travel when it counts. Salary below, plus hybrid working and genuine progression.

Scope of the Role

As a Design Engineer, youll add technical judgement early, then own delivery through manufacture. Youll work with industrial design, suppliers, and stakeholders to reduce risk and move faster.

• Develop products from concept to manufacture.
• Assess feasibility, trade-offs, risk, and delivery routes.
• Produce CAD, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Apply DFM across plastics, metals, and assemblies.
• Engage UK and international suppliers through sampling and pre-production.

Key Skills and Experience Required

• Proven Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer, or Mechanical Design Engineer on physical consumer products.
• End-to-end NPD, from early concept to release.
• Strong DFM judgement, cost/quality trade-offs, supplier collaboration.
• Communicate trade-offs clearly to non-engineers.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and field insight when useful.

Salary and Benefits

• £40,000 £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
• Hybrid working: minimum two days per week in Tamworth.
• UK and international supplier travel when needed.
