Application Developer - Hybrid

An opportunity is available for an experienced Application Developer to join a large scale, long running delivery programme supporting critical business applications. The Application Developer will work within a mature enterprise environment that integrates software and infrastructure across a large data centre and thousands of end points. This is a senior Application Developer role requiring strong Java expertise, design capability, and confidence working independently.

The Role of Application Developer

• As an Application Developer, you will design, develop, test, and support Java based business applications.
• You will provide fourth line application support, including root cause analysis of live incidents and defects.
• You will assess and implement changes raised through formal change proposals.
• You will maintain and review HLD, LLD, and component test documentation.
• You will carry out code reviews and mentor other developers, including offshore teams.
• You will support test, pilot, migration, and rollout activities across ongoing projects.

Skills and Experience for Application Developer

• Three to four years minimum Java development experience.
• Strong experience with Maven, XML, SQL, and Java IDEs such as Eclipse.
• Experience with version control systems such as Subversion.
• Ability to work on large and complex code bases.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Linux, Scripting, Atlassian tools, or modelling tools is beneficial.
