Meridian Business Support are recruiting on behalf of our client in Luton for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their Operations Quality team. This is a temporary role with strong likelihood of extension and an opportunity to go permanent for the right person.

The Role

Working within a regulated aerospace & defence environment, youll act as a Quality focal point supporting in-service and returns material activities at IPT level.

Weekly structure:

• 2 days MRB meetings: reviewing units, identifying risks, entering data into SAP, Matlab & Excel
• 1.5 days Post-MRB investigations and documentation updates
• 1.5 days Preparing for the next MRB cycle

Training can be provided on systems, but strong quality knowledge is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Quality Manager and Principal Quality Engineer
• Investigate non-conformances (root cause & corrective action)
• Review and approve returns, concessions and repair documentation
• Ensure traceability and configuration control
• Liaise with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and suppliers
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO9001
• Provide quality reports and support continuous improvement

What Were Looking For Essential:

• Experience in a similar Quality role
• Strong understanding of quality principles and risk identification
• Ability to translate engineering requirements into structured tasks
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills confident with shop floor and senior stakeholders
• Analytical, logical thinker

Desirable:

• Aerospace & defence background
• Experience with SAP, Matlab, Excel

Youll be confident, proactive and able to challenge appropriately, while remaining supportive and collaborative.
