Due to continued growth, we have a new opportunity available for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our client, one of Europe’s leading privately-owned Food processors at their site in Merseyside.

Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer
Location: Merseyside (L34)
Salary: £45,423 basic plus £4k per year shift allowance - Plus Overtime.
Shift: Nights 10pm - 6am Monday - Friday

The role:

As the Multi Skilled Engineer, you will support the smooth running of the factory by providing effective Electrical and Mechanical maintenance and ensuring business needs and targets are met through adherence to the plant maintenance programme.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform physical and visual checks on site machinery.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Carry out repairs, upgrades and installations.
• Complete system checks and pre-start inspections.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and testing records.
• Monitor spare parts stock and update spares lists.
• Work safely in line with company Health & Safety and hygiene policies.
• Work with subcontractors and ensure permits and method statements are followed.
• Liaise with site supervisors and management when required.
• Support continuous improvement through 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
• Undertake training to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.

You will be educated to a minimum of ONC/NVQ in an Engineering related discipline, and ideally hold 17th/18th Edition Qualifications. You will also ideally have completed an Apprenticeship or an equivalent formal training programme in installation and maintenance that includes relevant practical experience.

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to take direction and challenge in a professional manner along with proven experience of planned maintenance systems, breakdown maintenance and installations and knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic systems and boilers.
