Hours: Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00 Friday: 07:30 – 11:30

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Engineer (Manual Turner) to join our busy engineering department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist looking to work within a well-equipped workshop environment with access to a range of machinery and processes.

The successful candidate will have strong manual turning experience and be confident working with CNC equipment and other workshop machinery.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform precision manual turning operations to engineering drawings and specifications
• Set up and operate CNC machines where required
• Carry out balancing, grinding, milling, and welding tasks as part of the production process
• Interpret technical drawings and work to tight tolerances
• Conduct quality checks to ensure components meet required standards
• Maintain machinery and ensure equipment is used safely and efficiently
• Work collaboratively with other engineers and departments to meet production targets
• Follow all health & safety procedures at all times

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in manual turning (essential)
• Experience operating CNC machines
• Knowledge of balancing, grinding, welding, and milling processes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good understanding of health & safety in a workshop environment

Desirable

• Formal engineering qualification (apprenticeship or equivalent)
• Experience working in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
