Initial 6-month contract - £700 per day (inside IR35) - Hybrid working arrangement, various UK offices available

Clearance required SC is required for this role.

Our government client has an immediate requirement for a Senior developer (Java, Kotlin, AWS, Current SC Clearance) to join a Security Cleared team to develop a new system enable to the automated triggering of algorithms, to identify trends and efficiently match relevant data sets for the organisation. This role will be key in building the Back End infrastructure.

Skills & experience required for the Senior Backend Developer (Java, Kotlin, AWS, Current SC Clearance)

  • Proven experience in Back End development, ideally within a microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with modern Java or Kotlin for Back End development.
  • Ability to design and implement APIs for secure data exchange between systems.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure, including deployment, hosting, and service management.
  • Skilled in building and deploying microservices for data ingestion and processing workflows.
  • Experience hosting and executing algorithms or data science models within Back End services.
  • Understanding of secure data handling and compliance requirements, especially for sensitive or justice-related data.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment in AWS environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based monitoring, logging, and scaling tools (eg CloudWatch, ECS, Lambda).
  • Collaborative and communicative approach, able to work effectively with data scientists, analysts, and operational teams.
  • Familiarity with data science or machine learning
