Job Title: EC&I Engineer

Rate: £55-£65 per hour

To provide commissioning and engineering services ensure the delivery of safe design solutions and plant modifications, especially with respect to testing/commissioning and handover/ acceptance. To undertake activities across the engineering cycle, including requirements capture, optioneering, plant modifications, design deliverables and to provide discipline specific advice into a variety of forums, taking ownership and resolving issues as required.
- COMMISSIONING AND ENGINEERING SUPPORT/ IMPLEMENTATION
- Production of high quality commissioning documentation (SATs) and peer reviewing of other commissioning documentation, including Commissioning & Acceptance plans, FATs and Reservation Lists
- Production of Safety Commissioning Schedules and Safety Commissioning Reports where required (LC21)
- Undertaking, controlling and overseeing commissioning activities when required and authorised to do so. Assessment and sign off of commissioning documentation. Handover to Operations & Maintenance.
- Use of hold point control in commissioning activities where necessary.
- Provision of routine progress updates and specialist technical input to a variety of forums as required.
- Understanding and considering the wider implications of a change, outside of your own discipline.
- Undertaking technical investigations as required.
- All commissioning activities are appropriately documented and safely delivered using SQEP resources.
- All Active Safety Commissioning is carried out using LC21 arrangements and appropriate due process is followed.
- Ensures that all functional testing has been completed to demonstrate successful project delivery.
- Ensures successful sign off of SAT documentation and handover to Operations and Maintenance.
- Ensures all records are archived.
- ACCOUNTABLE AS INTELLIGENT CUSTOMER FOR EXTERNAL DELIVERY OF DESIGN AND EQUIPMENT/INSTALLATION
- Review appropriate Commissioning & Acceptance Plans to be used with contractors
- Oversee commissioning activities and deliverables from contractors, to ensure work is carried out to specification, on time and compliant with UUK procedures.
- Uses prior knowledge and qualifications to ensure high quality, relevant commissioning documentation is produced and followed.
