Were partnering with a fast-growing fintech-focused technology business based near Fareham thats expanding its engineering team.

The company is looking for an experienced Software Developer with a strong background in commercial software development, ideally with solid experience in PHP and/or Golang, to help build and maintain high-quality applications.

What youll be doing

• Design, develop and test scalable backend solutions using Golang.
• Maintain and enhance an existing PHP codebase to support ongoing product evolution.
• Work closely with engineers and product colleagues to translate requirements into robust software.
• Participate in code reviews and champion best engineering practices.
• Stay up to date with new technology trends, especially in Go and backend systems.

Youll have

• 8+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and development patterns.
• Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience in PHP and ideally exposure to Golang (or willingness to learn it).
• A problem-solving attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with financial systems or fintech applications.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with unit testing and PCI-compliant environments.
