The Role

A well-established, award-winning national planning consultancy is seeking a Principal or Associate Planner to join its London office as part of continued growth. The role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of sectors, including regeneration, supporting both private and public sector clients on complex and high-profile planning projects.

The position focuses primarily on development management, with involvement in planning applications, negotiations, appeals, local plan representations, and master planning work.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting as primary client contact on key projects
• Leading and delivering complex planning instructions to agreed deadlines
• Preparing fee proposals and managing project budgets
• Producing clear, high-quality planning reports and submissions
• Negotiating with local planning authorities and stakeholders
• Supporting business growth and knowledge sharing within the team

About You

• Strong experience across the full UK planning lifecycle
• Background in consultancy, local authority, or related planning environment
• Confident managing client relationships and leading projects
• Excellent written, verbal, and report-writing skills
• Proactive, commercially aware, and committed to professional development
• Motivated by working in a values-led, people-focused organisation
