An established UK manufacturer is looking to add an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to its site engineering team. The role focuses on maintaining plant and facilities to a high standard, reducing downtime, and supporting safe, efficient production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across plant and site facilities
• Reduce equipment downtime while maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards
• Support the ongoing improvement of machinery reliability and site performance
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety and environmental standards
• Record and close maintenance tasks accurately using a computerised maintenance system
• Work closely with production, engineering and support teams across the site
• Assist with engineering improvements and cost-effective repair solutions
• Contribute to achieving site targets for output, quality and safety

Requirements

• Time served mechanical apprenticeship
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong mechanical fault-finding capability
• Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Exposure to TPM and planned preventative maintenance systems
• Good awareness of health, safety and environmental practices
• Comfortable supporting others within a team environment
• Confident using IT systems for reporting and documentation
• Welding experience, MIG and MMA
• Previous experience in a senior or lead maintenance capacity
