The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join a growing, forward-thinking building services consultancy with offices in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a wide range of challenging and rewarding projects — from NHS frameworks and Ministry of Defence facilities to high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) infrastructure upgrades, refurbishments, to commercial, science, and research environments.
This position offers the chance to work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, supporting the design and delivery of innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across diverse sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality electrical designs across a range of building types and technical environments
Undertake detailed design work including calculations, schematics, and technical documentation
Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders
Assist in the preparation of specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
Support site inspections, surveys, and client meetings as required
Contribute to project planning, technical reviews, and quality assurance processes
About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
A degree or HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
At least 3 years’ experience in electrical design within a building services or infrastructure consultancy environment
Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Amtech, Dialux, and Revit (or similar)
A solid understanding of HV and LV systems, lighting design, power distribution, and energy efficiency principles
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to technical excellence
