Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Glasgow (office-based)
Opportunity
A specialist multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for a motivated and technically strong Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to join their design team. You’ll work on bespoke, technically challenging design-and-construct projects in regulated markets, collaborating directly with world-leading end-user clients.
Role & Responsibilities
Design electrical systems including HV/LV distribution, lighting, fire detection/suppression, structured cabling and security/controls.
Develop detailed design plans, specifications, equipment selections and schedules.
Produce construction documents: layout drawings, single-line diagrams, equipment schedules, etc.
Manage electrical aspects of projects from initial design through construction and commissioning.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with codes, standards and regulations.
Candidate Requirements
Degree in Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years’ experience in building services design.
Strong understanding of electrical design principles and industry standards.
Competent in design software and tools (e.g. Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Excel)
Commercial awareness and good project management/communication skills.
Full UK driving licence.
