Lead Software Developer – WSS Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3–4 days on-site Security Clearance: British Citizen The Opportunity My Client is looking for a proactive Lead Software Developer to join thier Weapon Systems Simulation & Experimentation (WSSE) team, delivering innovative end-to-end synthetic environments that represent complete weapon systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, combining software development, team leadership, and systems thinking. You’ll work closely with Project Leads and Simulation Architects to develop advanced simulation and visualisation solutions using C# and C++. From early concept experimentation and AR/VR visualisation through to in-service support and training, WSSE plays a critical role across the full Company product lifecycle — and you’ll be at the heart of it. What they are looking for * Lead Software Engineer with experience leading small development teams * Strong background in C# and C++, with a robust problem-solving mindset * Passion for simulation, synthetic environments, and systems-of-systems engineering * Open, adaptable approach to building reusable software across multiple products * Exposure to real-time simulation, DIS/HLA (desirable, not essential) Why Apply?
