Salary: £43,600 – £46,309 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts (06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 / 22:00–06:00) Benefits: 25 days holiday, company pension,
The Role We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a well-established engineering team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving a range of automated production machinery, ensuring reliable performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
You’ll join a team of six engineers and play a key role in ensuring equipment uptime, diagnosing faults, and delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct planned preventive and reactive maintenance on automated machinery
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on equipment (sensors, relays, 3-phase, single phase systems)
Carry out mechanical work including bearings, belts, chains, pneumatics, and gearboxes
Support with PLC fault finding and minor control adjustments
Work collaboratively with the engineering team to improve efficiency and reliability
Contribute to continuous improvement projects and site upgrades
About You
Electrically biased, multi-skilled maintenance engineer (ideally 60/40 electrical to mechanical)
Qualified through an apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering
Background in a manufacturing or production environment
Confident working with conveyors, palletisers, and automated sortation systems
Motivated by hands-on maintenance, teamwork, and achieving high standards in PPMs
