Job Title:Production Services EngineerLocation (if Hybrid / Office Based):Leeds (2 to 3 days )Special Working Conditions:24*365 BasisRole DescriptionThis role encompasses providing IT system administration services for hardware, operating systems, and related systems software for relevant infrastructure across YBS.Sector

Key Responsibilities (Up to 10)
Provide 2nd and 3rd line support services on a 24 x 365 basis for elements of the associated technology stack across all development, testing and business critical production environments, including on call.
Develop, maintain and provide IT capacity and performance management services across the associated technology stack.
Installation, administration and support of all relevant systems.
Provide appropriate consultancy services to other business users.
Act as the primary point of reference / subject matter expert for several elements of the associated technology stack.
Assist with the monitoring of core systems operational performance through key performance indicators and enhance performance where possible.
Ensure new systems are adopted and backed up following YBS standard procedures and protocols.
Plan and perform the installation, administration and support of the Society’s business critical hardware and software infrastructure.
Maintain system availability, security and continued vendor support through the delivery of appropriate systems and patching.
Develop, maintain and provide 2nd/3rd line support for highly complex automated job schedules.
Take the lead on specific Research and Development activities as agreed by the Leadership Team.
Ensure all supported systems and services are available within specified hours of service.
Ensure group data is processed and backed up securely and that effective controls ensure data and systems can be recovered as required.
Plan and support the processing of all batch processing, data imports and exports.
Provide effective incident and problem diagnosis and resolution utilising other internal and external support teams when required.
Assist with regular capacity planning, performance measurement and tuning tasks liaising with other IT teams, users and 3rd parties where necessary.
As directed by the leadership team, assist in performing regular Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery testing and service provision. Develop and maintain appropriate technical documentation. Provide input to the creation and execution of IT Disaster Recovery plans. Act as a member of the Disaster Recovery team as part of any live invocation.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure Operations processes, standards and technical documentation.
Provide architecture and design services to IT and the rest of the group.
Work with Information Risk Management and comply with all YBSG Information Security Policies.
Comply with YBSG change control, release and problem management procedures.
Provide management information and reporting as requested by the leadership team.
Support the Infrastructure Lead by acting as a mentor to less experienced team members.
Key Skills / Knowledge / Experience (Up to 10)
Experience in providing diagnosis and resolution of complex technical problems in business-critical IT environments.
Experience with technical documentation generation.
Experience of the development, maintenance and 2nd/3rd line support of highly complex automated job schedules.
Experience of systems management and monitoring tools.
Good understanding of Oracle middleware products.
Knowledge of Oracle Database technologies.
Knowledge of SQL database technologies.
Knowledge of Microfocus Cobol and C/C++.
Excellent knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and HP Operating Systems.
Expert level skills in designing and developing high quality complex scripts.
Knowledge of system performance monitoring and capacity management.
Detailed technical knowledge of back-up and recovery technologies.
Excellent understanding of IT operational security requirements.
Experience of working in customer/end-user IT support environments.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent professional communication skills, written and verbal, to people of varying technical knowledge levels.
Ability to self-teach and expand knowledge.
