Gate & Barrier Engineer (South East Midlands Northampton to London)

Location: Based anywhere between Northampton & London, covering the South East Midlands, London, and surrounding counties
Salary: £36,400 basic | £17.50 per hour | OTE £45,000£65,000
Hours: 40 hours per week | Paid door-to-door

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK specialist in automated gate and barrier systems, due to continued growth within their engineering division.

This position suits a multi-skilled Gate & Barrier Engineer who enjoys working on technically complex, security-critical systems and wants clear progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, servicing, and maintenance of automated gates, barriers, bollards, road blockers, and turnstiles
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault-finding
• Working on high-profile commercial and government-linked sites
• UK-wide travel as required
• Participation in a call-out rota after 3 months.

? Candidate Requirements

• Electrical or mechanical background preferred- a formal apprenticeship is a plus, but strong hands-on experience will also be considered.

• Proven experience as a Gate & Barrier Engineer or similar role

• Strong electrical fault-finding skills

• Experience with hydraulics, PLCs, and control circuitry

• Computer literate

• Full UK driving licence

• Able to obtain SC security clearance

• Willing to join call-out rota

• Desirable qualifications (not essential):

  • DHF certification
  • Gate Safe accreditation
  • IPAF (Powered Access / MEWP)
  • PASMA (Mobile Access Towers)
  • CSCS card

  • 1 week in 56
  • £100 per week on call
  • £50 per call-out

• Realistic OTE £45,000£65,000
