A new role for a highly technical Senior Systems Engineer has been created by a rapidly expanding scientific instrumentation innovator in Oxfordshire (OX14), providing cutting edge solutions to the most high tech industries.

Joining a growing team, the Senior Systems Engineer will play a key role that shapes and directs system functionality across the product portfolio, overseeing the technical elements of the system function and driving critical design and project decisions.

This position would suit an accomplished System Architect or Senior Engineer who thrives on detailed functionality definition, technical specification development.

Senior Systems Engineer Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of technical aspects of the system function, including mechanical and electrical layout, Bill-of-Materials, and safety considerations.
• Collaborate with the broader product team to identify optimal design solutions.
• Develop and maintain the system function section of design documentation, including work breakdown structures for other engineering disciplines.
• Proactively identify technical risks and integrate mitigations into design and project planning.

Senior Systems Engineer Key Requirements:

• Systems Engineering experience in cutting-edge instrumentation, measurement, or advanced process tools
• Familiarity with engineering change and manufacturing cycles/processes, including PLM
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and technical documentation practices
• Experience with complex instruments incorporating multiple disciplines such as mechanics, electronics, motion systems or optics.
• Background in environmental control systems including vibration and temperature management.
