Role: Communications Engineer

Location: Northampton

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 + benefits

Our client is an established telecoms and IT solutions provider delivering connectivity, telephony, IT and meeting-room technology to businesses across the UK. We’re expanding our engineering team and looking for a confident, customer-focused Communications Engineer to join us.

The Role

As a Unified Communications & AV Installation Engineer, you’ll survey, install and configure cloud-hosted VoIP and meeting-room systems, including Gamma Horizon, 8x8, and Yealink Teams Room solutions. This is a field-based, customer-facing role where professionalism, technical expertise and clear communication are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure VoIP platforms and Teams Room systems
• Deliver on-site customer surveys and documentation
• Configure contact centre features (IVRs, agents, wallboards)
• Provide end-user training
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues
• Represent our client on customer sites, ensuring an exceptional experience

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years’ experience in UC/telecoms installations
• Hands-on experience with Gamma Horizon and/or 8x8
• Knowledge of Teams Room systems (preferably Yealink)
• Understanding of networking (VLANs, PoE, IP provisioning)
• Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills
• Full UK driving licence
