Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Craigavon
Salary
£35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Electrical Engineer: £17.66 per hour
- Multi-skilled Engineer: £18.49 per hour
Shift Allowance: 18.5% for working rotating day/evening shifts

Hours of Work
Week 1: Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-13:00
Week 2: Monday-Thursday 16:00-00:00, Friday 16:00-20:00
(Two-shift rotation, with occasional night call-outs as required)

Role Purpose
To provide day-to-day electrical maintenance of all machinery, services, and facilities within Operations, and deliver technical support and proactive solutions to engineering/manufacturing challenges to ensure production capability is maintained and maximised.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical maintenance cover for production, ensuring breakdowns are resolved promptly and downtime is minimised.
- Use CMMS (McMain) to record and close all maintenance activities.
- Complete reactive and planned maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Support project work from installation through commissioning.
- Offer technical support to engineering, operations, and external contractors.
- Contribute to monthly team meetings driving continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Scope of Role
- Maintain major equipment: 12 high-speed tufting machines, 1 shearing line, and ancillary equipment.
- Support production of approx. 80,000 metres of carpet weekly.
- Maintain site services (HVAC, power, fire sprinklers, air compressors).
- Participate in audits, surveys, and 5S housekeeping initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship.
- ONC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with AC/DC motors, 3-phase electrics, variable speed drives, servo systems.
- Understanding of PLC control systems and fault diagnosis.
- Basic IT knowledge.
Desirable
- HNC/BTEC or Multi-skilled NVQ Level 3.
- Pneumatics and hydraulics knowledge.
- High-speed tufting machine experience.
- IET 17th/18th Edition certification.
- PLC programming experience.
