About The Role:
Platform Recruitment has partnered with a high-tech engineering company specialising in the development of precision electro-mechanical products, which is seeking a Mechanical Development Engineer to join their innovative R&D team. The company develops advanced products for multiple industries, offering solutions that range from precision electro-mechanical assemblies to industrial and scientific applications.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design and development of next-generation products, working from concept through to production in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and design new and existing electro-mechanical products
• Create component and assembly drawings, BOMs, and design documentation
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation
• Design and build jigs, fixtures, & manufacturing setups
• Undertake engineering changes and support product transfer to production
• Work with suppliers to source components and ensure manufacturing feasibility

Key Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Design or related engineering discipline
• Proficient in 3D CAD design software
• Have a hands on and practical skillset building and testing prototypes
• Experience in precision component and mechanism design
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques - machining, plastic moulding, and die-casting
• Understanding of material properties, tolerances, and stress analysis
