IT Infrastructure Engineer (2nd Line)
Gosport - Fully On-Site
33,000 - 34,500 per annum
We’re partnered with a growing logistics client in Gosport who is investing heavily in their IT landscape and we’re on the hunt for a hands-on, technically solid 2nd Line Infrastructure Engineer to be a key part of that journey.
If you’re someone who enjoys getting into the detail, troubleshooting the root cause of issues, and being part of a supportive, collaborative team, this is a role worth considering.
This is a fully office-based role (no hybrid), working in a close-knit environment where the team genuinely helps each other out and celebrates wins together. As the company expands into Europe, there are exciting changes on the horizon and you’ll have the chance to help shape the future of their IT infrastructure.
What You’ll Be Doing
Acting as a key 2nd line escalation point for infrastructure and user issues
Investigating issues down to root cause, not just applying quick fixes
Supporting and maintaining both on-prem infrastructure and Azure cloud environments
Managing network configurations - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs
Using tools like command prompt, PowerShell, and performing domain registry checks
Supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365
Working on small to mid-size projects and contributing to wider infrastructure planning
Ensuring systems are compliant and secure
What You’ll Need
Strong experience in a 2nd line or similar support role
Comfortable working across on-prem and Azure infrastructure
Confident with networking (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs)
Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
Experience with desktop environments (Windows 10/11, Office 365)
Familiar with command line tools, scripting basics (PowerShell), and domain tools
A proactive mindset - someone who wants to fix the root of the problem, not the symptom
Flexible and collaborative - happy to help where needed, not stuck in silos
Nice to Have
Azure or AWS certification
PowerShell scripting
Linux experience
ITIL awareness
Experience in logistics or warehousing environments
