We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Engineering to lead across ten and counting engineering squads to drive technical vision, strategy, and execution of our platform, while expanding our product offering on a global scale, in multiple directions across consumer credit, discounts, employment products and more.
What will you be doing?
Collaborate with the Engineering Directors to guide and manage the squads, including hiring, mentoring and performance management.Work with the CTO as well as the senior leadership team to define and execute the technical roadmap and strategy aligned with the company’s business OKRs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and operations, to prioritise and deliver product features and iterations.Continue to develop our engineering best practices, processes, and standards to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.Drive continuous improvement in software development processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and velocity.Ensure the security, compliance, and regulatory requirements of our platform are met.Oversee the architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of our platform and infrastructure.Monitor and analyse system performance, scalability, and reliability metrics, and implement solutions to optimise performance and mitigate risks.Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and industry best practices, and assess their potential impact on our product and business.Serve as a technical evangelist and advocate for engineering excellence within the organisation and the broader tech community; promoting Wagestream as a thought leader.
What experience might you have?
Proven engineering leadership experience, leading leaders.Extensive experience building and scaling platforms and products.Up to date and constantly evolving technical expertise in software development, architecture, and infrastructure, with proficiency in modern technologies and frameworks.Demonstrated ability operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.Strategic thinker with a track record of driving innovation, delivering results, and solving complex technical challenges.Passion for social impact and a commitment to driving positive change through technology.
