I am recruiting for two experienced Test Analysts to join my client based in Guildford. These roles are paying a salary of up to £46,000 and are available as a 1 year fixed term contract and a 2 year fixed term contract although there are chances there may be other positions available at the end of this time. They work hybrid and would love people happy to go into the office 2 days a week.
These positions sit within a growing QA function supporting multiple concurrent projects across core business systems including Finance and Human Resources, as well as cloud migrations, system upgrades and new solution implementations. The technical landscape includes Azure Integration Services as the core middleware layer, which features in almost every project. The team is working across a mix of Agile and more traditional delivery models, with a gradual move towards a more structured Agile approach and sprint based planning.
The QA function is continuing to mature, and currently consists of a Test Manager, a Test Analyst and a couple of offshore resources. Their new Test Manager is focused on improving standards, governance and early engagement in projects. Historically testers have often been brought in late in the lifecycle, so there is a strong emphasis now on shift left practices. You will be expected to challenge and question requirements, help shape them into testable user stories and work closely with architects, PMO and delivery teams to improve overall quality. The environment is collaborative but fast paced, with multiple streams of work running in parallel and increasing adoption of structured sprint planning.
They are looking for experienced manual Test Analysts with experience with Azure as a key part of the role as it will involve hands on testing of Azure Integration Services, particularly within cloud migration and integration projects. There is also significant API testing, so strong experience using tools such as Postman would be ideal; as would basic SQL skills including writing and refining queries, using joins, extracting data from tables and validating inserts etc
There is an existing automation framework that was developed but not fully completed, built using C#, SpecFlow and a BDD approach, integrated into CI CD pipelines and Azure DevOps. There i the opportunity for successful candidates to either help enhance and integrate this automation pack for new projects or execute against the current pack for systems undergoing upgrades. Hands on automation experience is highly desirable, although not essential for candidates with strong integration and API testing backgrounds.
