The Role:
Accountable for the management and delivery of the engineering capital plan.
Providing engineering support to non-engineering derived capital projects
Ensure the annual capital plan is delivered on time, on cost, in full, with engagement and involvement from key stakeholders
Ensure all new equipment or installation is delivered right first time
Determine project schedules by studying project plans and specifications, calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements
Control the project plan by reviewing design, specifications. Scheduling changes and recommending actions

Identify improvements within the production environment and manage proposals from conception to completion

We are recruiting for for a Project Engineering Manager to join our established Engineering department at our Mr Kipling bakery in Stoke on Trent, where we make the nations favourite Mr Kipling cakes.

What you will be doing:

Development of pipeline of suitable projects, including; feasibility studies, cost benefit analysis
Lead compilation of capital authority request documentation/narrative
Lead and engage end users in the development of engineering scope
Develop functional design specifications in compliance with engineering & Premier specifications
Selection of preferred supplier(s) through robust selection process, including application of appropriate contract
Management of all health and safety aspects of capital projects (e.g. CDM requirements)
Reporting of project progress; tracking of milestones, activity, priorities, financials
Ensure compliance at pre-delivery milestones to user acceptance test protocols
Manage key resource through to project delivery
Manage post-delivery process including installation, commissioning, training, etc.

What we need from you:

An Engineering Degree or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of Food/FMCG background
Extensive capital project management experience with a customer focus
Conversant with relevant legislation (e.g. IEE 17th Edition, DSEAR, etc)
Demonstrable record in successful delivery of engineering capital projects in FMCG with particular emphasis on specification/integration/implementation
CAD literate and MS Project proficient
Demonstrable control system and PLC design/specifications experience
Strong working knowledge/experience of Rockwell/Allen Bradley control systems

The Electrical Estimator & Project manager is required to undertake all duties associated with the preparatory tasks in relation to service delivery, namely surveys, preparing and submission of quotations, supervision of works teams and other associated tasks. When working as a project manager, you will be required to oversee & ensure the delivery of various contracts involving electrical systems maintenance and repair.

More about the role:

Undertaking full and concise site surveys, preparing and submitting accurate works quotations and job engineering.
Supervising specialist subcontractors to ensure service provided is as per service level agreement; reporting any issues supervision immediately and contribution to problem resolution.
Supervise all Adler and Allan personnel on site whilst works are being undertaken; ensuring all personnel are provided with a full brief of works and ensuring service delivered in of a high standard.
Preparation of RAMS to a high standard and fully compliant with relevant legislation.
Provide accurate weekly sales KPIs to management in a timely and efficient manner.

Additional key tasks & accountabilities when acting as Project Manager:

Manage teams of Engineers to ensure work is carried out on time and safely
Liaise with Service Engineers and subcontractors and carry out site audits as and when required to ensure work is being undertaken to a high standard
Overseeing & quoting any variations.
Ensure stringent KPIs are followed and complied with and reported back to the customer in a timely fashion.
Communicate with customers and attend face to face meetings as and when required.
Ensure installation handover documentation is produced and passed to clients on time
Provide management with a weekly report relating to project progress. The report should detail specific information relating to the operational and financial aspects of a project.

Role:

Working within a dynamic and well-established team based in Trentham, as the CAD Project Coordinator, you will work both autonomously and collaboratively, managing various projects at one time. This role will entail a combination of delivering excellent client communication and project management, ensuring meticulous accuracy and putting together CAD layouts (there is a master folder containing pre-designed mock ups – so it’s worth considering that this isn’t a solely design-focused, highly creative role).

You will have the full support of the wider CAD team and managers with excellent in-depth training, both initially and ongoing.

In addition to the above, as the CAD Project Coordinator you will:

Manage and plan multiple projects.
Work closely with clients and other departments to understand design requirements.
Take verbal direction and implement into CAD mock-ups and calculations from conception through to the final work.
Prepare and produce documents and CAD layout drawings
Proof-read designs and drawings, identifying any errors and amending, as well as drafting and revising various aspects of designs, based on feedback too.
Assist clients and colleagues with technical support and advise.
Keep systems up to date with relevant information and communications.
Take a proactive approach to training, development and learning.
Efficiently prioritise tasks and manage multiple things at one time, as well as being able to work reactively if this is required from a client.

Requirements

As the CAD Project Coordinator, you will live locally to Trentham and ideally have experience of working on a project basis, requiring you to be an organised and hardworking individual, with excellent customer service at the forefront too. In addition to this you will also present a keen eye for detail and proficiency in 2D CAD software.

In addition to the above, you will have:

Experience of managing customers and projects would be ideal.
Understand deadlines with the capabilities of working towards final end dates.
Very high attention to detail and accuracy of work.
Confident communicator across written and verbal conversations.

Our client has secured significant work across the UK water sector as part of the AMP8 investment cycle. They have been appointed as one of several key partners within a major enterprise framework, delivering a multi-billion-pound programme of projects spanning AMP8 (2025-2030) and AMP9 (2030-2035).

The scope of work includes project management, design, construction, and commissioning services across a wide range of water and wastewater schemes. These projects vary in value and complexity, covering both infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets across the North West and Cumbria region.

Role Summary

The Project Manager will play a key role in delivering planned works across the region, while building strong relationships with operational teams, supply chain partners, and wider enterprise stakeholders.
