Your Profile:

Essential skills/experience/knowledge:

• Experience in architecting and solutioning in Gen AI, Agentic AI, classic ML, and automation space.
• Good understanding of Prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, Supervised/unsupervised Model tuning, MLOps/LLMOps pipelines, and AI observability.
• Experience in Enterprise-grade RAG-based solutions with LLMs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LLaMA, etc.) and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, etc.).
• Ability to design enterprise-level AI/Gen AI platform/solutions with the client’s existing enterprise stack.

What is the difference between “minimum” and “essential” criteria. Both imply that they are mandatory and so could be one list?

This is a bit confusing. I used to have just one, but this is the standard format of JD that the Bank wants us to follow. Here is the difference:

Min Criteria:

This must list the minimum technical skills/experience/qualifications required to do the job and should be measurable/scoreable. The screening questions you select must link to these, in order to allow candidates to best demonstrate their suitability for the role.

Essential:

This lists other important technical skills/experience/qualifications, and also more behavioural competencies. These are ones that are better assessed at interview rather than on screening questions on the application form

Ok, I think we could go back and ask HR about this as it does seem confusing and to me doesn’t give a good impression of the Bank to applicants at it looks like 2 lists for the same thing.

With recent investment this Software Engineer will be joining a dynamic, autonomous team of six tasked with scaling new product functionality and greenfield solutions. As such proven experience working in a product led, fast paced start or scale up would be hugely beneficial.

This role would suit an experienced software engineer who relishes using the latest technology to build greenfield solutions that quickly solve business problems with the ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

This Software engineer should have most of the following key skills

• Strong commercial software engineering experience - Go, Python, Typescript, node etc
• Solid rational database exposure - MySQL, Postgres
• A well rounded skill set in streaming systems - Kafa, Kinesis etc
• Strong AWS deployment exposure
• Understanding of column-oriented databases - BigQuery, ClickHouse etc
• A product focussed, business first approach to engineering
• Experience working in a fast paced product lead environment
• Experience operating data systems at scale
• Any experience working in a FinTech or regulated industry
• Cloud native architecture exposure - AWS massively preferred
• Solid pipeline automation skills (CI/CD)
