Key RequirementsMust be very familiar with working in Data Centre and Corporate environments.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the structured cabling industry.
Good understanding of various Structured Cabling Solutions.
Capable of installing, terminating, and testing Fibre Optic cables.
Experienced in using Fluke test equipment and performing fault diagnosis.
Must have Health & Safety Training (CSCS, ECS, or equivalent country-specific qualification) affiliated with the Construction Industry Training Board.
Should hold at least 3 industry or manufacturer installation accreditations (eg, Commscope, Corning, Panduit, or other major brands).
Must have completed an industry-recognized Structured Cabling and Fibre Optic Training Course, such as:
CNET CNIT
BICSI Engineer/Technician
City & Guilds
B-TEC or equivalent
IPAF and/or PASMA Training preferred (or equivalent local powered-access qualification).
Experience installing cable pathways (basket trays, trunking, fibre runners).
Ability to understand and follow patching schedules/cut sheets.
Experience installing power and data cables within server and networking racks.
Experience in rack-and-stack of active network hardware (Switches, Routers, Servers).
Able to follow instructions and provide on-site support to remote network/systems administrators.
Ability to apply basic IP Addressing under supervision.
Experience with installing and configuring UPS systems (desirable).
Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude, with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels.
Must be willing and able to travel within the UK and internationally (including air travel) for project work.
