Responsibilities:

  • Research and concept development of systems solutions.
  • Development and management of system requirements.
  • Development of abstract architectures to describe systems.
  • Design process engineering for hardware, software and mixed technology systems.
  • Systems safety engineering, including the analysis of the systems safety requirements.
  • Systems integration, including structuring and partitioning of complex systems.
  • Systems performance evaluation and its application to verification and validation.
  • System Integrity analysis including resilience and impact assessment.
  • Through life environmental impact evaluation of complex systems.
  • Systems qualification and acceptance.

Experience required:

  • A leading practitioner of Systems Engineering activities across several areas of activity, experienced in more than one phase of lifecycle.
  • Hold a CEng, CSEP, MSP, Prince2, APMP, ADKAR, Agile, relevant post-graduate qualifications.
  • A background in systems or similar engineering discipline within a complex engineering environment.
  • A minimum of a technical Degree, equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Comfortable with resolving ambiguity in task, system and requirements definition.
  • Communicating effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Delivery focused with determination to make a positive difference.
  • Proactively and pragmatically leads adaption of approach to circumstances.
  • Experience in using requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS) or architecture approaches/ tools (e.g. MODAF, NAF, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect)

We are seeking a DV Cleared LINUX & Applications Specialist to support a secure government programme delivering operating system and application capabilities within a controlled virtual infrastructure.

This is a 6 month contract role, Inside IR35, paying up to 600 per day.

Candidates must hold active DV Clearance and be a sole British national due to the sensitivity of the programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and integration of Linux operating systems - Red Hat preferred
  • Provisioning of new systems within virtual environments
  • OS upgrades, patching and lifecycle management via Satellite Server
  • Security hardening to CIS and NIST standards
  • Use of security scanning tools and threat remediation
  • Deployment, configuration and troubleshooting of vendor monitoring tools
  • Integration with operating systems, container platforms, Active Directory, security tooling and backup solutions
  • Build and deployment of network and infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Strong troubleshooting across OS and IP networking environments
  • Production of High and Low Level Design documentation and build guides

Expected Activities

  • Deliver against the project technical roadmap
  • Linux server builds within on-site infrastructure
