A unique opportunity for an Audio Systems Engineer to join a very early-stage London technology company building a next-generation edge device product currently in stealth. Founded in 2024 by an exceptionally experienced team of product designers and engineers, several of whom have previously built and exited companies for significant sums, this is a genuine ground-floor opportunity to shape a product from first principles.
This is a small, high-calibre team spanning hardware, embedded systems, software and machine learning. They are building something ambitious, technically complex and product-led, with audio forming a central pillar of the roadmap.

Requirements for Audio Systems Engineer:

Role Overview

Otis are growing and we’re looking for a repairs engineer for London.Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of elevator and escalator units.

On a typical day you will:
Carry out various repairs of mainly Otis equipment but other equipment as well.
Work across the London area managing the portfolio of elevators within it
Respond proactively and quickly to anything else found on the lifts being worked on.
Carry out both minor and major repairs to achieve continual operation.
Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship.

What you will need to be successful:
Hold a NVQ 3 or equivalent within lift service, repair and or maintenance.
Hold a valid drivers license

You are curious, adaptable, and you know how to work alone or in a team

What Can You Expect?

At OTIS, we offer one of the most comprehensive apprenticeship schemes in the lift industry.

As an Engineer Apprentice, you’ll work within a supportive team, combining hands-on experience with classroom-based learning to achieve an NVQ Level 3 qualification-essential for a career as a Lift and Escalator Engineer.

Your training will be fully supported by OTIS and our trusted apprenticeship provider.

Once qualified as a Service Lift Engineer, you’ll manage a regular route, performing routine service visits and repairs. You’ll diagnose electrical and mechanical issues and keep customers informed about the status of their equipment.

Who Are We Looking For?

We’re seeking aspiring engineers with strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a proactive mindset. You should demonstrate:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/Grade 4 or above, including Maths, English, and a STEM subject
  • A willingness to attend and complete all required training throughout the apprenticeship
  • You will require your own laptop
