THE ROLE: Refrigeration Engineer, Service Engineer, FGAS, Electrical, ODS

As our Engineer, you’ll be working as part of a sizable national refrigeration service and install team (over 20 Engineers), usually covering the area in between Stoke - Warrington. You know you will be home every night and that’s important to you.

On rare occasions you may be asked to help further afield to cover holiday/sickness, but only in extreme circumstances. There is paid overtime.

No two days will be the same, you will support on installation, planned service and fault-finding reactive diagnostics work covering controllers, refrigeration circuits, cooling issues, PLC updates, valves and calibration work - so there will be plenty of variety for you.

You will be managed by an experienced hands-on service manager who joined the business as an apprentice and is now leading the engineering team.

What Youll Be Doing: Maintenance Engineer

Providing reactive and proactive maintenance support across the site
Fault-finding on a wide range of mechanical and/or electrical systems
Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance to improve reliability
Supporting breakdown response during days and nights shifts
Working safely at all times, following isolation and H&S procedures
Sharing knowledge with other engineers and apprentices on shift

What Were Looking For: Maintenance Engineer

A maintenance engineer with electrical or mechanical bias (multi-skilled ideal, not essential)
A recognised apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification
Strong fault-finding ability and hands-on engineering approach
A positive, energetic, and driven attitude towards work
Willingness to be trained and develop additional skills
Comfortable working a rotating 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern

  • Basic PLC understanding
  • CNC knowledge. (advantageous).
  • Experience with industrial machinery.
  • Any mechanical experience would be a plus.

We’re looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join a busy manufacturing site. This is a replacement role due to a leaver, and we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running within an established engineering team.
The Role
You’ll be working on a wide range of heavy manufacturing equipment, carrying out fault finding, breakdowns and planned maintenance across the site.
Key responsibilities include:

  • PLC fault finding on Siemens and Mitsubishi
  • Electrical fault finding on sensors, relays and control panels
  • Maintenance and breakdown support on heavy machinery
  • Working on presses, crushers and gearboxes
  • Supporting continuous improvement and site reliability

Electrical bias is approximately 70% electrical / 30% mechanical.
