My client has a number of offices across the UK and employs circa 4000 members of staff across the Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Building Surveying disciplines. They have a fantastic reputation with clients and have relationships that date back over 30 years. They work with some of of the biggest names in the industry and work across a range of sectors including Education, Health, Defence, Commercial, Hotels and Industrial. Project sizes can range from £1 - £100 million.

THE POSITION

Due to their ambitious growth plans they are looking to recruit an Associate Project Manager for their Bristol office. The Project Manager will be given the opportunity to head up a team and be the client lead on some of the companies Flagship projects. Due to the long term succession plans the business has in place, the appointed individual will also be given a unique opportunity to progress to Director level and have the option to purchase shares in the company. At Associate level the successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to get involved in business and client development and represent the company at various networking events and meetings.

THE CANDIDATE

The successful Project Manager must:

Have a degree and ideally be a full member of the RICS

Have experience working as a Project Manager on the Consultancy, Client of Contracting sides

Have experience working on projects within Property / Building

Have experience of managing projects up to the value of £20 million

Have good communication and client facing skills

We are shortly commencing groundworks at our fabulous new development in Fishponds, Bristol. This will be a great opportunity for an existing Project Manager or an experienced Senior Site Manager looking for a step up. You’ll be managing a team of Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers on this impressive 250+ unit site.

What you will do

Manage the delivery of residential development project from pre-construction through to completion.
Coordinate internal teams and external consultants to ensure projects progress in line with programme and budget.
Develop and maintain project programmes, identifying risks and dependencies.
Monitor project performance, highlighting risks, delays, or cost pressures and implementing mitigation measures.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, company procedures, and statutory requirements.
Support pre-start activities, including design coordination, procurement, and buildability reviews.
Work closely with Site Managers to support day-to-day delivery and resolve project issues.
Liaise with Commercial teams on cost control, variations, and value engineering.
Support the management of subcontractors and suppliers in line with project requirements.
Coordinate inspections, certifications, and approvals required for completion and handover.
Ensure high-quality handover documentation and smooth transition to Customer Care.
Maintain accurate project records and reporting.
Provide regular updates to senior management on progress, risks, and opportunities.
Promote best practice and continuous improvement across project delivery.

What you will have

Essential experience in a Project Manager or Senior Site Manager role for a recognised housebuilder.
NHBC award winning background
Good understanding of the residential construction process from pre-start to completion.
Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Commercial awareness and experience working with budgets and cost control.
Confident communicator able to work with internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
Proactive problem-solver with the ability to manage risk and change.
Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent experience.
SMSTS and CSCS (or equivalent) qualifications.

As our Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from start to finish. The Project Manager will manage budgets, schedules, resources, and teams to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role involves liaising with Partners, Customers, contractors, and stakeholders, as well as handling risks, issues, and compliance.

Valid First Aid at Work Certificate
NVQ Level 6 -7 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar
Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate
Valid LOLER certificate
Qualified to the required CIOB Grade applicable at the time in accordance with group policy
Valid SMSTS Certificate
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Project and Asta Team plan
Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety obligations and building legislation
A good understanding of the considerate contractor’s requirements to achieve high scores
