Would you like to become part of a vibrant, collaborative, and innovative research environment at the University of Bath? We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary team working at the forefront of translational biopharmaceutics.
The successful candidate will contribute to EPSRC-funded research aimed at developing a transformative platform for the future use of injectable medicines in the UK and globally. The overarching goal is to design a new generation of reformulated injectable therapeutics—tailored for both community and hospital administration—and manufactured through automated processes to significantly reduce demands on healthcare systems.
You will help drive our vision to “link lab to patient” by developing a better understanding of relationships between drug/tissue interactions and absorption following subcutaneous (SC) administration. These findings will facilitate the reformulation of IV injectable medicines, enabling their use in the most appropriate setting.
A typical day in this role may include: evaluating diffusion characteristics of drug molecules using state of the art equipment (Sub-cutaneous Injection Site Simulator – Scissor); identifying physico-chemical characteristics of drug molecules contributing towards diffusion behaviour; using a range of analytical techniques for characterisation of drug stability and degradation; working with a wide range of drug classes including small molecules, biologicals, and advanced formulations such as nanoparticles.

The Department of Psychology is seeking a talented and motivated Research Associate to join the UKRI -funded PRIME (Peer Review Improvement for Minimizing Bias in Evaluation) project .
PRIME is an ambitious international initiative designed to test whether Results -Blind Peer Review (RBR) —a review process where decisions are based on the introduction and methods before results are revealed—can reduce publication bias and strengthen the reliability of scientific evidence.

It also investigates the feasibility and acceptability of implementing RBR within journal workflows, and will generate actionable policy recommendations , guidance materials, and communication resources to support improvements in peer review.
