Summary
NG Bailey IT Services are currently recruiting a Data Engineer / Managed Services Engineer with experience in both structured and voice cabling to support our contract covering our MOD contract in Cyprus responding to break fix / faults and minor projects across the portfolio.
The Data Engineer will have experience of installation and fault finding of Structured and Voice Cabling systems and preferably hold the CNCI (Certified Network Cable Installer) qualification. You will be responsible for responding to any of our managed service contract break fix requests as per the contract SLA’s. It will be desirable to have experience as a service engineer of Electronic IP Security Systems.
This position works in an MOD area where SC Security Clearance (DV Clearance Desirable) is required therefore current or previous Security Clearance is preferred. If you do not have security clearance, this will be requested at offer stage and a condition of employment.
This role is based in Cyprus, therefore initial transportation costs and removals will be provided.

5+ years’ experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
Proven experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, SQL, Snowflake, Springserv); Microsoft Fabric experience is a strong plus
Strong proficiency in Spark SQL and PySpark, including complex transformations
Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory or equivalent
Ability to write efficient, reusable scripts for transformation, validation, and automation
Hands-on experience integrating data from APIs (REST, JSON), including automated data collection
Solid understanding of data modelling best practices for analytics and dashboards
Confidence working with large, complex datasets across multiple formats (CSV, JSON, Parquet, databases, APIs)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve data issues
Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams
