Job Description:
The Head of Development will support the continued expansion of the internal development function. The role involves leading large development teams and driving the Trust’s cloud-first development strategy. This position will define the future of technology within the Trust, impacting both regional and national projects.
Main Responsibilities:
Act as the Lead Architect, Developer, and Mentor for development teams.
Develop and implement the Trust’s digital roadmap.
Maintain and improve cloud-first development strategies.
Lead technical development across multiple programmes at pace, transforming the clinical staff and patient experience through digitisation.
Deliver large and complex digital projects while ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.
Establish and develop excellent relationships with a range of stakeholders across administrative and clinical settings.
Stay updated on technological advancements and NHS/Healthcare policies to assess their impact on Digital Services.
Requirements:
Extensive experience with MS SQL Server and Cloud SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
Expert knowledge of source control systems (GIT).
Expertise in Continuous Integration and Deployment tools like Azure DevOps.
Professional knowledge acquired through a degree or equivalent experience, with specialist knowledge gained through postgraduate courses or equivalent training.
Experience leading development teams and driving innovation through new technologies.
