Job Description:
CricViz is looking for a talented individual and cricket enthusiast to join our team on a 2-month internship in June 2024.
Role Overview:
• You will be using the world’s largest cricket database and working with leading cricket analysts to further develop our understanding of all formats of the game.
• You will be directly involved with our support of broadcast coverage throughout the T20 World Cup taking place in June.
• You will be analysing granular tracking data to generate new insights on player and team performances to support our work with Pro Teams and leading broadcast clients.
• You will be working within a team to develop new metrics for use by clients such as broadcasters and professional coaches/teams and work with the Product team to turn those insights into products and graphics which will be displayed on broadcasts across the world.
Key Requirements:
• Passion for cricket and strong understanding of the detail of the sport (rules, terminology, insight).
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience using relational databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy, jupyter, scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of machine learning and statistical methods (e.g. linear/logistic regression, decision trees, random forest, unsupervised methods) is preferred.
• Ability to convey complex information through data visualisation.
• Ability to manage different responsibilities and adapt to changing business needs.
