As a company we are a household name in the area, founded over 100 years ago and with annual turnover in excess of £60m in a secure industry. We employ over 500 staff at one of our Leicester sites alone and this role has come available as a result of expanding into another facility

Your roles and responsibilities will include maintaining and repairing pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, mixers, sensors, and relays. Youll be expected to follow closely the preventative maintenance plan and carry out general inspections. We have a great mixture of PPMs and reactive maintenance.

The successful Maintenance Engineer will be:

  • Multi skilled maintenance engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias, with a minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Experience in an FMCG environment would be beneficial

Overview

Key Responsibilities

About the role:

As an EC&I Technician, you’ll provide electrical, control and instrumentation support to the plant mainly focussed on planned and unplanned maintenance activities. You’ll also provide some support on modification and replacement projects.

Based in Uddingston near Glasgow, Daldowie Treatment Works is one of the largest plants of its type in Europe. For nearly 25 years the plant has focussed on creating wdf pellets from sewage sludge reducing environmental impacts as well as creating a new fuel source replacing the need to burn fossil fuels.

Day to day you’ll support the process by providing timely repairs to breakdowns and carrying out planned maintenance activities including instrumentation calibrations. You’ll ensure that all work is managed and recorded correctly to maintain compliance, inspiring safe ways of working across the site, setting a high standard of EC&I engineering activity, and supporting in rolling out new processes, systems, and ways of working to your colleagues on site.

You’ll be joining a tight knit, dedicated team based on site, who are also part of a larger group with a wide support network.

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll need to have experience in solving problems and being a strong communicator to be able to persuade and influence others.
You should be educated to at least ONC level in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering and should have served a recognised Apprenticeship.

Specifically, you’ll need plant experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical equipment, including but not restricted to, 3 phase motors and associated switchgear, variable speed drives, soft starts, circuit breakers, motor control centres and 3 phase and single-phase distribution systems.

You’ll be able interpret schematic drawings, single line diagrams and PLC ladder logic.

Ideally, you’ll also have process plant experience in the maintenance, repair, installation and calibration of plant instrumentation and control systems including, but not restricted to, systems for the measurement of temperature, pressure, level, flow, oxygen, and ph.

A Field Service Engineer is sought to join a specialist fleet technology business in London (inside the M25), supporting the delivery of field service operations across customer sites by carrying out reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance, audits, and installation work on vehicle-based technology and associated equipment.

The Field Service Engineer, London (inside the M25), will be expected to develop your understanding in the field, learning from senior engineers and the wider Field Service team in technical areas, service processes and best practice. This may include fault diagnostics, installation work, maintenance procedures, reporting systems, and safe working practices across customer sites and vehicle-based technology environments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attend customer sites to complete reactive service calls and planned maintenance tasks as scheduled by the Customer Support Team.
  • Assist with installation and upgrade works in collaboration with the Projects Team when required.
  • Diagnose faults, identify solutions, and carry out repairs to restore equipment to full working order.
  • Accurately record all service, maintenance, and installation activities using company systems and reporting processes.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company and customer standards.
  • Follow the company returns process by correctly handling, documenting, and returning faulty or removed parts.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, acting as a professional representative of the business.
  • Support audits and inspections of installed equipment where required.
  • Attend customer meetings or site visits with management when needed.
  • Look after company equipment, tools, and vehicle, ensuring they are used responsibly and kept in good condition.

Key skills & experience:

  • Practical, hands-on technical experience (engineering, electrical, mechanical, IT hardware, telecommunications, or similar).
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload in the field.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Comfortable working at height where required.
  • Willing and able to work permanent night shifts.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a proactive approach to learning.
