Working with the network and infrastructure teams to ensure client up time and liaising with internal/external customers to understand technical requirements through to resolution will be central to the role. There will be further responsibility to investigate and diagnose network-related incidents and analyse / upgrade network resources where required, including router/switching upgrades.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Extensive technical background with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the technologies and challenges in data centre environments.
  • Broad understanding of Juniper network environments (EX/QFX Switching, SRX Firewalls) - JNCIP preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Juniper SRX security appliances.
  • Analyse and upgrade network resources - router/switch/uplink upgrades.
  • Deployment and maintenance for the trading, WAN and public network infrastructure.
  • Maintenance of network uptime.
  • Responding to customer queries and adhering to contracted SLAs.
  • Financial Services experience is beneficial.

My client, a global legal organisation, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join a newly established IT Workplace Server team. The role will be primarily focused on BAU server support, alongside involvement in key projects requiring server expertise, including on-premises to cloud migrations.

You will be responsible for responding to 3rd line requests that come through during the day and ensure handover to the following team once your shift is complete.

Required experience from the Infrastructure Engineer:

  • Working Hours: Friday Monday 12-hour shifts 4 days per week
  • Must have strong experience with Windows Server (2019/2022)
  • Must have hands-on experience with VMware vSphere.
  • Solid in-depth knowledge of GPO, DNS, and DHCP.

As an infrastructure engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for the ongoing support and development of MultiCloud platforms, as well as the delivery of new dedicated customer cloud environments such as Private Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service. You will also provide an escalation point for the Service Desk Third Line engineers to aid with incident resolution and operational support.

The role is customer-facing, and you will be expected to work closely with customers, end users, and technical partners.
