The Role

You will work across the full product stack, helping design and build the systems that power both the customer experience and the operational backbone of the platform.

Engineers here take ownership of problems end-to-end, from shaping early ideas through to delivering production features used by customers.

Responsibilities include:

• Building full-stack product features across web, backend services and data systems
• Designing APIs and integrating with hardware and energy data platforms
• Developing AI-enabled capabilities, including LLM-powered workflows and operational tooling
• Contributing to core supplier infrastructure such as billing systems, operational tooling, and internal platforms
• Working closely with founders and customers to shape the product direction

Your role:

As a Principal Software Engineer you will act as a technical authority and role model for engineers across engineering teams / Agile Squads, helping them with design, problem-solving and complex technical decisions. You’ll lead and own technical transformation and architectural initiatives, in close collaboration with the Enterprise Architect, helping to shape and evolve the platform, services and system boundaries as the company scales whilst mentoring engineers and driving high standards of quality, security, reliability and operability across the stack.

This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role where you’ll architect a new React Native application from the ground up while stabilising and evolving an existing Kotlin Android app used in live rail environments.
