V3 Recruitment are currently working on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company based in Waterlooville who are looking to recruit an experienced Extrusion Line Engineer to join their team.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you will be responsible for the setup, operation, optimisation, and performance of extrusion lines to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The role plays a key part in maintaining stable processes, reducing downtime, and ensuring consistent output and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Setting up, starting, adjusting, and shutting down extrusion lines
Installing and aligning extrusion dies, tooling, calibrators, and downstream equipment
Optimising temperatures, screw speed, pressure, line speed, and cooling systems
Completing first-off checks and documenting process settings
Troubleshooting production issues such as dimensional variation, surface defects, and material inconsistencies
Reducing scrap, improving line performance, and maintaining repeatable processes
Supporting preventative maintenance and reporting breakdowns when required
Working closely with Toolroom and Engineering teams on tooling improvements
Ensuring products meet quality and dimensional specifications
Accurately recording process parameters and quality checks
Supporting new product trials and process improvements
Following all health & safety procedures at all times

Previous experience setting up and running plastic extrusion lines
Strong understanding of polymer behaviour and extrusion processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Hands-on mechanical skills and confidence working with tooling
Experience working in high-volume or continuous manufacturing environments

Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Processing, or similar
Experience with calibration tanks, haul-offs, cutters, slitters, or winders

We are HMRC Chief Digital and Information Office’s (CDIO) Tax, Benefits and Enterprise Operations (TB & EOps) team. We oversee the Enterprise Tax Management Platform (ETMP), a core component of HMRC’s tax accounting and payment infrastructure that supports millions of customer transactions annually and is defined as critical national infrastructure.
The team also currently supports SAP systems for internal HR (EOps), Procurement and Finance operations.
We oversee and manage our IT supplier, who undertakes operational running and IT change delivery onto the platform, this includes live service operations and complex batch processing across more than 60 tax and benefit schemes. Approximately £800bn of taxes and benefits flows through the Platform every year.
Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join HMRC’s CDIO Tax, Benefits & Enterprise Operations (TB & EOps), working in the Change and Assurance team.
The team assures change and maintenance deliveries across the Platform IT contract ensuring live service integrity is maintained during any IT change. You will be involved in identifying, defining, and agreeing the assurance approach, including depth and breadth of your team’s involvement to undertake platform-based, delivery focused assurance across a portfolio of the high risk/impact ETMP deliveries.
The team also undertake delivery management of projects up to a value of around £500,000 whole life cost. This is defined as a small change. As an Associate Delivery Manager you will be leading the end-to-end delivery of multiple small to medium scale IT deliveries.
These are the two strands of work across the team, and you will be placed into one of these areas. While the roles of each area are broadly similar there will be nuances in the duties for each role and operational flexibility across the team is expected.
It is envisaged that over time as we transition from ECC6.0 to new replacement software the scope of the end-to-end delivery management role will evolve in line with new contractual arrangements.

The role requires collaborative working and attendance in both HMRC and Supplier offices. Supplier office working will be required at least 1 day per month (supplier office currently based in Worthing). Attendance at supplier site will count towards your office attendance requirement.
There will also be a need to support Supplier led Drop-In forums with HMRC customers which is likely to involve travel and attendance at other HMRC Offices.
