Define and articulate system acceptance strategies and acceptance evidence demonstrating system performance across a wide range of operational scenarios to internal and external stakeholders

Your skills and experiences:

A good understanding in some of the following subject areas; signal processing, target track extraction, object classification algorithms, system and sensor resource optimisation

A good understanding of factors that can affect the real-world performance of sensing systems and how these can impact the accuracy and timeliness of measurements in order to meet challenging design objectives and requirements

Demonstrates understanding and experience of Systems Engineering which could include knowledge of Systems Engineering standards (e.g., ISO 15288)

Experience of presenting both technical and non-technical information in a formal setting

The Opportunity:The role of an RMO is to be the technical interface with the Design Authority (external or internal) of weapons system equipment in order to ensure the consistency of the weapon system equipment with system performance and project commitments.The RMO will need to coordinate the work packages for both internal and external suppliers to develop products. The opportunity:The Systems Design team is critical to the product development process, transforming customer requirements into lower level system architectures (Physical and Functional) and system requirements. The role covers the majority of the Systems Engineering V model, negotiating requirements with the missile systems customer through to the verification and validation process; you will gain a detailed understanding of RF Seeker design as well as building experience working with capable teams across all development activities.You will be part of a close-knit, hardworking, and highly motivated team striving to develop one of the world’s most advanced Seeker and Missile technologies. You will play a crucial role in this innovative development, witnessing the impact of your dedication and effort as the product is effectively deployed for use by the armed forces.There will be opportunities for travel both within the UK and internationally to other MBDA sites and trial locations.What we’re looking for from you:

Experience with deriving and managing requirements,

Experience with generating Functional and Physical Architecture using SysML, ARCADIA, or similar MBSE language,

Experience dissecting and understanding customer requirements and disseminating them down into lower-level subsystem requirements and complex functional architectures,

Consistent ability to deliver required output within agreed timescales,

Skill in cultivating strong relationships with colleagues, external departments and customers,

Experience with Model based Systems Engineering,

Experience with Systems engineering tools like DOORS / DOORS Next / Rhapsody / Capella desirable,

Experience with MATLAB and Simulink desirable,

Knowledge of RF/microwave and electronic systems, radar and control systems, and digital signal processing is desirable,

Weapon System Equipment Project Engineer (RMO) - Performance Sub-Systems

The RMO will need to coordinate the work packages for both internal and external suppliers to develop products. Ensuring that cost, deadlines and technical choices, are in accordance with the specifications. This is a varied role ranging from developing requirements with stakeholders, spending time in a design lab and supporting the acceptance of our Weapon System products. The performance sub-system RMO will be responsible for delivery of the Data-Logging and Monitoring (DLM) Sub-system and Image Processing and Control, Processing Unit (IPPU). The DLM Sub-system consists of 3 pieces of equipment were as the IPPU is a single piece of equipment. This role will be focused on the hardware delivery and physical certification aspects of these systems. Although an understanding of how these sub-systems work will also be required to support product delivery, which includes the software product. These sub-systems will be housed in other-subsystem so understanding of assemblies and certification boundaries would be desirable. As an RMO, your main responsibilities will be: Manage the Technical Requirement Specification (TRS) of the equipment Capture transversal engineering stakeholder needs (e.g. Safety, Cyber, Human Factors, Customer Support Services, etc) Understand the ability to trade requirements for cost and schedule Develop and understand interface specifications Manage technical interface with the Equipment Design Authority, including acceptance of the equipment delivery Support equipment integration at the system level Manage the Statement of work (SOW) of the equipment. Lead the technical progress meetings and milestone reviews with the supplier Have an understanding of Unit Production Cost (UPC) for the equipment. Understand sub-contractor management both internal and external Understand and contribute to the key activities in the engineering development lifecycle such as design reviews (PDR/DDR/CDR) Manage schedule, cost, quality and performance metrics for assigned work packages Work within a multi-discipline engineering team (e.g. Systems, mechanical, electrical, software etc) Understand the benefits of re-use versus new development Limit technical risks through application of mitigation strategies What we’re looking for from you: Individuals who have experience in or can demonstrate their ability to: Operate in the early lifecycle of a project, to drive technical direction for the equipment under development and clarify stakeholder needs Worked with third party suppliers and developed technical statements of work and deliverables Develop complex electrical equipment or subsystems and ensure the emergent design is compliant to the project requirements Proactively engages stakeholders and builds relationships that will further the project Lead technical work packages alongside experienced project managers, to demonstrate progress and balance technical risks.
