As our Workshop Engineer you will be responsible for:

Conducting repairs on faulty machines - diagnosing operational faults, repairing / replacing parts.
Carrying out routine / planned maintenance on coffee machines.
Ensuring machines brought back into service are operationally and cosmetically fit for purpose.
Completing job sheets / histories for each machine.
Managing incoming / outgoing stock / spare parts movements in the workshop and updating our stock management system.
Providing customer support for the Nespresso range of machines.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

An electrical / electronic qualification.
Experience in maintaining electro-mechanical equipment.
Electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fault diagnostic skills.
Be competent in using electrical testing equipment.

Every third weekend, you will be on call. The average callout rate is around one callout per weekend. Following your on-call weekend, you will receive Monday and Tuesday off with full pay, regardless of whether you are called out.

Your duties will include:

  • Reactive repairs of espresso machines and grinders.
  • Carrying out pressure system examinations.
  • Demonstrating equipment to customers.

Responsibilities of the Coffee Engineer

Reporting to the Service Manager you will be in control of the installation, maintenance, service, and repairs of high-end traditional and bean-to-cup coffee machines on various customer sites within your postcode area.

Managing your own work in progress, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed accurately, attending regular training courses to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment, and being an active team player sustaining the company’s prestigious reputation. You will be required to find, diagnose, and rectify faults, and undertake preventative maintenance on a wide range of coffee equipment at customer sites.

Requirements of the Coffee Engineer

  • Experience with traditional espresso machines and bean-to-cup systems is essential
  • Strong electro-mechanical background
  • Desired experience with one or more of the following brands: La Marzocco, Rancilio, Expobar, Wega, Fracino, Iberital, La Spaziale, Faema
  • IT literate and comfortable using modern technology
  • Full UK driving licence

Candidates from catering equipment, vending machines, white goods, or general electro-mechanical backgrounds will also be considered.
