The salary, depending on experience, is between £40,000 - £50,000pa and the role is mostly site-based, with the opportunity to work from home one day per week.
Your new role
In the role, you’ll work on a range of interesting IT infrastructure modernisation projects. This will typically be 75% of the role with 25% being BAU IT support across a range of 1st and 2nd line software / desktop end user support. You’ll work closely with an external MSP who pick up the majority of the BAU support ensuring smooth service delivery. You will lead on projects and need experience in managing end to end infrastructure projects. You’ll enjoy working on a range of exciting projects covering Infrastructure, Networking, Cyber Security, End user services & Cloud.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need to be an experienced IT infrastructure professional with extensive experience on leading project-based work. You’ll also need to be willing to work with users on day to day BAU support across a range of 1st and 2nd line technical support. You’ll need experience across the Microsoft suite including Entra, Intune and Autopilot. You’ll need experience across networking and Virtualisation. You’ll need an understanding of Cyber security, ideally cyber essentials, vulnerability remediation and security / compliance. You’ll need to be able to work in a varied role in an autonomous and independent manner in a small team.
What you’ll get in return
In return, you’ll receive a salary depending on experience between £40,000 - £50,000pa. You will get the opportunity to lead on a range of exciting IT projects and have a varied day to day with broad responsibility. You’ll need a driving licence as there could be some ad hoc travel to other sites, the site has parking available.

The Role

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced SC Cleared Desktop Support Engineer to join their team in Gloucester. This role is fully onsite and plays a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of their IT systems, supporting end-users, and maintaining technical excellence across the organisation.
You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, supporting Windows 10/Microsoft Managed Desktop environments, and assisting with IT infrastructure tasks to minimise downtime and enhance productivity.

Background or experience within telecommunications or network engineering

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Eligible for security clearance
