Are you ready to be a part of something extraordinary? As tombola continues its remarkable growth, weâre on the hunt for a Lead Developer within our Game Studio. Please note that this role is based out of our Sunderland office three days a week so we are unable to accept applications from candidates who arenât already based in the North East of England and within commuting distance of Sunderland.

Sounds great! What will I be doing?âŻđ
As well as your normal Senior Developer duties and responsibilities you will be responsible for helping to increase the capacity of the game studio by taking on some responsibility for people management and personal development for a small âsquadâ of developers.
We want squad leads who are focused on delivering the best products possible to our customers while developing others to be the best they can be. Someone who is able to overcome challenges, deal with pressure and make everyone around you a better employee and person. Someone who is focused on helping their team lead build the best team possible.
Weâre looking for someone with an âanything is possibleâ mindset, impossible is just a challenge.

An established Senior Developer with leadership experience
Able to deliver effective and engaging 1-2-1s to your squad
Responsible for managing holidays and absence for your squad
A good communicator. It sounds clicheÌd but things like being able to express your ideas clearly, talking to non-technical colleagues and effective feedback during code reviews are incredibly important.
Keen to learn. tombola do a lot of things other companies donât, so there is a lot to learn. But thatâs a good thing as we donât want to stand still. We want people who want to improve themselves.
An agent for change. Weâre constantly looking to improve the way we do things. From managing our workloads, to the way we lead and develop our people. We have an open attitude to new ideas. If you donât like the way something is done all we ask is that you suggest a better way of doing it.
