Description
Are you ready to be part of a team that drives innovation and transformation in technology? At PayPoint, we’re looking for an Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join us on our journey towards sustainable and efficient automation solutions.
As a member of our Automation team, you’ll play a crucial role in accelerating speed to deployment for new projects and infrastructure improvements. You’ll collaborate closely with other Infrastructure teams, Networks, DBA, InfoSec whilst applying your Automation/DevOps skills to innovate and develop our delivery in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
What will you be doing?
Drive improvements through automation to enhance reliability, availability, and performance of Infrastructure services.
Identify and deliver opportunities for technical and process improvements driven by automation.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, ISO27001, and Cyber Security Essentials.
Assist with Projects and Infrastructure Delivery to ensure alignment with business needs and compliance standards.
Proactively drive automation of infrastructure tasks to reduce time overheads and improve standard practices.
Continuously seek improvements to existing processes and implement them in line with PayPoint standards.
Update documentation, policies, and procedures, ensuring adherence across the team.
Ensure performance metrics and monitoring are in place to meet business expectations.
What would we like from you?
Production Infrastructure Support and some Automation experience.
DevOps experience in an agile environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and analysis.
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with scripting and automation with PowerShell, Bash, Python, SQL, Terraform.
Experience of software testing.
Knowledge of Windows Desktop and Server OS’s, Linux, and Microsoft Azure Technologies.
Experience working with containerization (Docker and K8’s an advantage), Jenkins (Or similar), and GIT (or similar MSTFS, etc).
Previous experience of VMWare scripting, Hyper-V scripting, and NetApp scripting.
It would be great if you already have…
PCI-DSS compliance.
Experience of Windows Storage Spaces and Storage Spaces Direct.
Proven experience of scripting with Ansible (or Puppet or Chef).
Experience with software products such as zScaler, CrowdStrike, SIEM, Zabbix, Service Now, Grafana, and Prometheus.
