Description
You’ll be joining the Serval team, a team of 5 engineers as a Senior Engineer. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be a part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently.
An expert in on-premises technologies and virtualisation in both on-premises and in cloud, you’ll take an active role in leading our automation of on-premises to a point of self-sustainability and even self-service. You will be working alongside with our Tech Lead and the rest of the team. In addition to on-premises you’d be building and maintaining automation in those technologies. There would also be room to grow into our infrastructure platform that hosts the ClearBank cloud services if no experience prior: Networking, Ingress/Egress, Landing Zones, API management, cloud resource and billing management. You’ll have proven experience of implementing complex networking on-premise and server management in another tech-led business helping us to understand the challenges and best practice you learned along the way. You’ll also be curious, have a growth-mindset and enjoy sharing your experience with, mentoring and coaching more junior members of the team.

You will be responsible for
Building and running a platform that enables engineering teams to take their products to market faster and run them reliably and efficiently
Leveraging modern technologies where appropriate to get the most value out of existing ClearBank platform offering, delivering additional value in the highest-priority areas. ClearBank wants to lead the financial industry when it comes to technology while focussing on the things customers value most.
Leveraging agile principles enabling collaboration and innovation in the team and stakeholders outside the team, creating an environment that drives positive energy and success

Requirements
Deep knowledge and expertise in on-prem technologies
Hands-on experience with ClearBank platform technology stack: Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps yaml pipelines and templates, Azure cloud service including Azure Arc, Express Route, Virtual machines and machine image creation.
Hands-on Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches (ideally including Nexus switches), Routing protocols and experience with firewalls.Hands-on experience with Configuration as Code or Infrastructure as Code tooling
Proven track record of operating in a DevOps and/or Platform environment
Proactive approach to problem, incident and risk management and resolution
Excellent communication skills
Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, and related patterns
Desirable skills & experience, nice to have but not essential
Software development experience: C# (.NET) & Automated testing
Experience working in financial services/fintech/newest financial technologies
