Position Title: CTRM Business Analyst
Job Summary: The CTRM Business Analyst is responsible for understanding the business processes related to commodity trading and risk management and translating these requirements into functional specifications for CTRM system implementation and enhancement. They collaborate closely with traders, risk managers, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure that the CTRM system meets the needs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
-Requirement Gathering: Work closely with business users to understand their requirements related to trading, risk management, and related processes. Document these requirements thoroughly and prioritize them based on business impact.
-Functional Specification: Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for CTRM system configuration, customization, and integration. Ensure that the specifications align with the organization’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
-System Configuration: Configure the CTRM system based on the approved functional specifications. This may involve setting up trading instruments, market data feeds, pricing models, risk metrics, user access controls, and other system parameters.
-Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop test cases and perform thorough testing of the CTRM system to ensure that it meets the functional requirements and performs as expected. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders and address any issues identified during testing.
-Training and User Support: Provide training to end-users on how to effectively use the CTRM system. Develop user manuals, training materials, and other documentation as needed. Provide ongoing support to users and address any system-related queries or issues in a timely manner.
-System Enhancement: Continuously monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and business requirements to identify opportunities for enhancing the CTRM system. Propose and prioritize enhancements based on business value and feasibility.
-Vendor Management: Work closely with CTRM system vendors to understand product roadmaps, upcoming releases, and support services. Coordinate with vendors for system upgrades, patches, and resolution of technical issues.
-Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure that the CTRM system supports the organization’s risk management and compliance requirements. Collaborate with risk management teams to implement controls, limits, and reporting functionalities within the system.
Qualifications and Skills:
-Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field. -Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CTRM certification) preferred.
-Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) working as a Business Analyst in the commodities trading or financial services industry.
-Strong understanding of commodity trading, risk management, and related processes (e.g., physical trading, derivatives, hedging, market risk, credit risk).
-Proficiency in CTRM systems such as OpenLink Endur, Allegro, Triple Point, or similar platforms.
-Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
-Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and project management practices.
-Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
-Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing commodity trading (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR, REMIT) is a plus.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
