A specialist Manufacturing organisation are currently looking for an Engineering Manager to lead their Engineering Department in all technical functions including R&D, design, and manufacturing. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead, mentor, and develop a small team of engineers, plan workloads, set priorities, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Youll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet customer expectations and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering design, documentation, and system integration.

• Manage and support a team of engineers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification.

• Provide technical oversight to improve existing products and implement new designs.

• Maintain compliance with statutory standards, including ATEX and relevant safety directives.

• Prepare monthly performance reports for senior management.

• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to capture and specify design requirements.

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.

• Drive best practices in design, manufacturing, and safety across the business.

About You

You are a hands-on leader with a passion for engineering excellence and innovation. You thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are confident managing technical teams and complex projects.

Essential:

• Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Electronic, Electrical, or Electro/Mechanical Engineering.

• Proven experience in manufacturing or a technical environment, including a leadership or management role.

• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, machining, and assembly.

• Good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards and industrial safety compliance.

• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Desirable:

• Experience with ATEX directive compliance.

• Knowledge of electrical and control system integration.
